Hi Rob,
The Hinckley and Bosworth crowd seem to have missed the joys we in North West Leicestershire endured during the hot summer last year. Let's be honest this year was really not too warm.
What I partuculaurly like is the way that the council now claim that they seem to have saved 660k (cost of reverting the service) yet the council tax has gone ap drasticaly anyway. The extra free labour provided by the home 'volunteers' seems to go unremarked and unrecognised.
Never has so much effort been expended by so many people for such little benefit in any direction and for real de-benefits in others.
Someone told me that most of the separated rubbish ends up tipped in the same place to be mixed back together again. Wouldn't surprise me. I suspect this is a gargantuan con on all fronts.
It will distract people from matters of importance, some will think the council is being usefully 'green', others will simply fly tip wherever they fancy and it all helps to build a smoke screen around concil budgets and national taxation.
